Destination: Diamond Planet

If the temperature is below 350K long chain hydrocarbons will have formed- methane and tar- potential for rivers of crude oil.<br /><br />Why visit such a place? The diamonds? liquid or frozen methane? Some other resource?<br /><br />Science station placed there? Crashed ship with surviviors in need of rescue? Sathar listening post?<br /><br />Whatever the reason a diamond planet would be a different setting.
