Louis "Lou" Scheimer died the other day on the 17th of October.<br /><br />For those who don't know, Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott (who died back in '05) formed <i>Filmation</i> back in the '60s and lasted until the late '80s. Most would remember them for cartoons like <i>Masters of the Universe</i>, <i>Bravestar</i>, and <i>Ghost Busters</i> (the other one; the one with a gorilla), but in the '70s they produced a number of live action sci-fi shows that had a major impression on the designs and esthetics seen in the art of Star Frontiers. Shows like <i>Ark II</i>, <i>Space Academy</i>, and <i>Jason of Star Command</i>. Yeah, they are silly and campy as all hell, but they are still enjoyable.<br /><br />Oh, and I also highly recommended watching <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGDOmOj-5Ow"><i>Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All</i></a> (an animated TV movie, and pilot for the cartoon series). Unlike most of their family-friendly shows, this one is a little more adult, with deaths and sexual-suggestive content.
