An imprecatory prayer is one where the supplicant is crying out to God to perform justice against one that has harmed you in some manner.<br /><br />One of the things that surprises some people about the Bible is the presence of imprecatory prayers, particularly in the Psalms. These are usually about the pslamist crying out his pain to God over injustice done to himself or to his people. A particular such prayer is the psalm that decries the Babylonians who sacked Jerusalem and grabbed the infants from their mothers and swung them by their legs to bash their heads against rocks- certainly an event that is worthy of an imprecatory prayer.<br /><br />Without opening the debate over the validity of such prayer it just occured to me that this style of prayer would/could be something that a yazirian might pray.<br /><br />Taking in their aggressive and violent natures, practice of life enemies, honor codes and weapons this seems like a good fit. Not that it would exclude other types of prayer just that this might be a common example of a popular prayer style for them.
