Blizzacane is what local meteorologist are calling the storm that hit New England. Its officially a blizzard but wind gusts hit hurricane str. The suburbs of Hartford that saw 12 inches of snow in 90 minutes is where my Aunt Lori lives, have to make some phone calls to check on her today.<br /><br />This dral is heading out into the "hazardous environment" simply because his catering company has the contract to feed the National Guard when they activate. Thankfully my boss decreed that we would not be taking local deliveries beyond the meals on wheels we already do- so that's a lot less running around in this.<br /><br />Being from Maine and having lived in the Adirondack Mts and in Alaska as well as having made a shelter with a tarp and rope and slept out in a blizzard I rarely am impressed by snow events. (I was visiting Tennessee once and they had a inch of snow and it shut the state down!) I think I may be impressed with this one.<br /><br />I hope anyone caught in this storm uses good judgement and common sense if they must venture out.<br /><br />I'll be pondering the effects of trudging and working in deep snow for game characters.<br />
