The whole "search for the first survey expedition gets very little play in the volturnus modules, except at the end of part 1&2 its part of the hook to propel you to the next but only in a thin manner. What if a rich executive from Streel wants some hired guns to go look fir his daughter who was on the first mission? The Serrena Dawn is a tramp yatch or priveteer and the pirates mistake it for competition and shoot it up/down. There overriding mission is to locate the girl who doesn't really want Daddy's stoodges to rescue her and she plans to help defend the planet and offers to go back with them if they too help defend the planet.
