You know sometimes there are simple solutions that work but corporations dont want you to know about them, instead they'd rather sell you a solution that will not really work but have a semblance of working and yet cause you to just keep spending money.

I never really every had to deal with roaches till moving to Boston. Its just a fact of life that you live in the big city, it doesn't matter how clean you are there will be roaches. However, I'm seriously skeaved by them. Raid and black flag have made a lot of money on me. That was until 4.5 years ago.

At that time the down stairs neighbor had his father visit from what could be characterized as a third world country and suddenly he had bed bugs in his house. He couldn't understand why or how and I had no heart to tell him that they love to travel in luggage. Luckily the landlord lives on the third floor so I got on his case and he for once got off his butt right away to address and issue in the building. Exterminator came in and did the first floor and since we had not seen the bed bugs on our floor yet he simply wanted me to spray the spray that is used for hornets and wasps, the kind that can shoot a stream 30 feet to nail a nest up under the eaves of the house. I had to spray it around all the base boards and open the windows and get out of the house till the fumes dissipated.

The interesting side effect was that once it was done didn't see any roaches for a month. So I did it again and didn't see them for a year. Sprayed again and haven't see one for three years but just had a big one crawl across the floor in the bathroom. i was thinking about the need to pick up two cans of wasp spray and do all the base boards again but then I though about all those years being skeaved out and spending money monthly for bug spray when there was a real simple solution that will put a stop to the problem for serious length of time.

The exterminator was aware of it and the corporations schlepping bug spray must be aware of it but do you think they'd tell you? Nope. So... they vacuum.

NOTE: this wasp spray must be a very potent contact poison and when used in doors I strongly recommend openning windows then finding someplace else to be for awhile.
