Before space travel?

What was going on BEFORE each of the core races invented interstellar travel?  Did the humans in the frontier have a history similiar to ours?  What jokes would the dralasites have before discovering our old ones?  Perhaps they were a semi-serious race at first?  Did the yazirians ever have wars between their nations(Probably not)?<div>What kind of government did the yazirians have?</div>
