We didn't all get along

In reading some of the back ground material to look for ideas for space equipment I came across this line from the campaign section of the Knight Hawks remastered:<br /><br /><em>&quot;At the time there was no Spacefleet of any sort. A number of starships had been equipped with weapons to battle pirates and members of the other three races,&quot;<br /><br /></em>Before the Sathar War the four races were shooting at each other with starships!?!<br /><br />OK I haven't seen anything in the timeline about this. Someone start explaining.
