Star Frontiers Retro Clone

I'm considering making a retro clone of Star Frontiers which combines Alpha Dawn with Knight Hawks into a single book.

It will be the same character scale, meaning, you won't be able to pilot, repair, astrogate, etc. ships at starting level.

It will have contain KH board-game.

Some liberties will be taken to fix a few obvious holes in the AD/KH system, but otherwise it will remain intact.

I can't copy IP belonging to TSR, so I'll have to make new races (bedsides human) and a new setting. However I can derive races which will be obvious what the original inspiration was.

Like other clones I imagine a free PDF download lacking artwork will be made available to the public.

Questions to consider:

Is there a market for this, who is the consumer (I.E. would YOU buy it, or do you think others will?).

Since it cannot include the setting we all love, is it worth doing?

If it is released and does well, then when FrontierSpace comes out will you still consider buying that too?

Would you consider making adventure, supplements and modules to sell for your own profit (right now you can't make $ based on anything Star Frontiers).

Would a retro clone help the SF Revival?

Ideally this is something we could all benefit from, that is, if your like-minded and wouldn't mind making a few extra credits for doing something you 1.) already contribute and/or 2.) have existing material that can be converted into the new setting.
