Vehicle Mounted Radar?

Any Air Force (or similar) techs out there? <br /><br />We have radar as KHs equipment but what about vehicle mounted radar?<br /><br />Anyone know what the current range of a jet mounted radar is? Ball park numbers?<br /><br />The way I see it you have 2 options: nose mounted radar for attack air craft and then roof mounted equipment for ground and air vehicles that while not as big as whats on an AWAC would look similar and fill a similar role.<br /><br />Question I have is that on a nose mounted radar I would not expect it to have a good 360 degree look but then a jet is moving pretty fast so its focus aught to be what is in front of it (except of course during a dog fight)<br /><br />So basically I dont expect vehicle mounted equipment to have the same range as star ship mounted equipment nor the same size or cost.<br /><br /><br />
