<p>I was thinking about the first KH0 module and it had reference to an asteroid pirate base. After looking though the SF universe, not much has been done to explore this type of habitat, and I'd like to take this opportunity to do so. <br /><br />I've done a little research and it seems that asteroid living may well be a viable effort. In fact, a sizeable community could exist within these areas. There is a large scope for development , from mining to construction of bases and ships ( there are a lot of viable elements in asteroids). Some asteroids may even have geothermic activity, providing a heat source allowing these communities to exist further out in a planetary system.<br /><br />Add to this a 'freetown' attitude and a pirate/ pioneer attitude, mixed with a multitude of structures and ships, theres a huge scope for an article for issue 9. I'll start producing a sample plan for an asteroid 'city', and develop a few drawings to support this. Any views on the subject are welcomed.<br /><br />Note: I don't want to make this a project - There is a need for dedicated articles for Starfrontiersman. If there is enough material to produce a book on the matter, it'll be considered after the article is completed.</p><font size="2" face="Arial"></font>
