Want to learn more about celestial mechanics?<br /><br />Play the <a target="_blank" href="http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/orbit.html" title="Orbiter">Orbiter spaceflight Simulator</a>. But be warned, it is NOT a space shooter, it uses all the real physics involved to create a 3D Sol system, and you can fly many ships from the Space Shuttle to the futuristic Deltaglider.<br />Can't find a ship you want? Or new scenary? Check the Orbiter Hanger (type into google) or simply create your own add-on.<br /><br />Also, if memory serves, there was a group of people trying to expand the frontier into the Orbiter simulator - I salute them, and look foward to more of their work.<br /><br />As a final note, Orbiter has taught me so much about starship design (causing me to laugh at nearly every Sci-Fi show out there), and helped me to both respect the creators of star frontiers (for their integration of real physics into the game), and the infinitely complex ballet involved in the launching, rendevous, docking, and recovery of any form of space hardware.<br /><br />Long live the Frontier! Long live Orbiter!
