I'm considering the mechanics behind a universal character generator for Star Frontiers. My idea is to have a number of optional modules (I'll call them "Rules Sets") defined, and give users the ability to add their own Rules Sets to accommodate their individual Projects or ideas. So you'll see something that looks kinda like:<br /><br /><table align="center" border="1" width="40%"><tbody><tr style="background-color: #c0c0c0"><td valign="middle"><p><font face="arial black, avant garde"><font size="3">Select Rules Sets</font></font></p></td></tr><tr><td valign="middle"><input type="checkbox" />Alpha Dawn Core Races<br /><input type="checkbox" />StarFrontiersman Races<br /><input type="checkbox" />Fantasy Frontier Equipment<br /><input type="checkbox" />Knight Hawks Core Equipment<br /><input type="checkbox" />StarFrontiersman Helmets<br /><input type="checkbox" />JoeClient's Custom Skill List<br /><input type="checkbox" />...etc</td></tr><tr><td valign="middle"><button>New Rules Set</button><button>Create Character</button></td></tr></tbody></table><br />At first, I plan on not giving very good tools to create a Rules Set (It'll just be one big text box where you'll have to provide the data in a very specific format), but later I'll provide a more capable input form for the creation of Rules Sets. This is the plan anyways.
So, I want to make sure I give people the tools they'll need to create NPCs for adventures and PCs for games as well. Please let me know what you'd like to see as a feature. I won't promise all features will be present, but I want to hear from all of you.
